IICRC AI Use Policy: Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) on IICRC standards and related intellectual property is prohibited. Violations will result in suspension of access. IICRC prohibits the entry of its standards and related intellectual property (IP) into any form of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivatives of IICRC published and draft standards using AI is also prohibited. If a licensee violates this AI Use Policy, IICRC will suspend their access to its intellectual property, and further legal action will be considered. This policy ensures that AI is not used to redistribute or create new, non-compliant versions of IICRC’s copyrighted work.
This Standard describes the procedures to be followed and the precautions to be taken when performing water damage restoration in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, and the systems and personal property contents of those structures.
This Standard assumes that the determination and correction of the underlying source or cause of the water intrusion leading to the water damage is the responsibility of the property owner and not the restorer, although the property owner may contract with the restorer or other specialized experts to perform these services.
