IICRC AI Use Policy: Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) on IICRC standards and related intellectual property is prohibited. Violations will result in suspension of access. IICRC prohibits the entry of its standards and related intellectual property (IP) into any form of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivatives of IICRC published and draft standards using AI is also prohibited. If a licensee violates this AI Use Policy, IICRC will suspend their access to its intellectual property, and further legal action will be considered. This policy ensures that AI is not used to redistribute or create new, non-compliant versions of IICRC’s copyrighted work.

This Standard covers on-location cleaning and installed textile floor covering materials used in both residential and commercial applications.

This Standard covers the cleaning of textile floor covering materials for all methods of manufacture, including woven, tufted, needle punched, bonded and other manufacturing techniques reasonably encountered in residential and commercial installations.

This Standard establishes industry minimum cleaning procedures and may not be decreased. It may be exceeded by carpet manufacturers’ of professional cleaners’ recommendations.

Professional cleaners should maintain familiarity with fiber producer and carpet manufacturer warranty requirements that may pertain to this document.
